An exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team here at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth

Pharmacy Technician – Band 4

Salary: Up to £25,264 per annum dependant on experience

Hours: 37.5 hrs/week

Hours: Shift pattern: 7.5 hour shifts between 08:00 - 20:00 Mon - Sun with rotations.


We are looking for a enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician with a excellent eye for detail. Ideally you will have experience of a community or hospital environment with knowledge of over the counter medicines.

Applicants must possess the relevant skills and competencies for pharmacy practice including GPhC registration NVQ Level 3/BTec in Pharmaceutical services.

Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury private Hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.


Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the accurate and efficient pharmacy service that our team currently provide to the wards and dispensary (including dispensing for inpatients, outpatients and ward top ups)
  • Dispense prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with local and national policies, and any Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in place
  • Advise patients  on their medication, addressing specific needs where there may be barriers to understanding
  • Participate in and contribute to the medicines management service alongside the Lead Technician/Dispensary Manager
  • Participate in efficient stock control and management systems for the various areas within the pharmacy
